Humboldt Park Real Estate
Humboldt Park - Chicago real estate is home to one of Chicago’s largest communities. Located just to the west of Bucktown - on the northwest side of Chicago - Humboldt Park historically has been a neighborhood where residents were en route to living someplace else when they scraped together enough capital. That seems to be changing as the gentrification that transformed Bucktown and is taking root in the East Village has expanded to the other side of Western Avenue.
Humboldt Park's newest arrivals flock to the neighborhood to take advantage of affordable housing, location, and the gorgeous, wide-spanning park of the same name. Many buyers are making their first or second home purchase.
Many Humboldt Park dwellings are large, old Victorian and Colonial houses, untouched and weathered nicely since their construction in the late 1800’s. More and more of the larger homes, which have fallen into disrepair with the passing of years, are are being restored to their original grandeur. Redevelopment of Humboldt Park has produced many conversions and, keeping pace with Bucktown and the Ukrainian Village neighbors, new construction projects. Zoning regulations enable builders to construct multi-unit buildings. And because land here is less expensive than east of Western Avenue, builders are looking to attract more single family home buyers to homes that are well under the seven-figure threshold that marks most of Chicago's new construction single family homes.
Humboldt Park's boundaries are Chicago Avenue (800 north) to Armitage Avenue (2000 north), Western Avenue (2400 west) to Pulaski (4000 west)
